How to Install and Set Up the Outlook Add-In, Windows
To manually add the Outlook Add-In to your Outlook or OWA account (Windows):
- Log in to Outlook, click the File tab, and click Manage Add Ins; you are redirected to OWA.
- Click the + button, and select Add from the Office Store option.
- Search for the Barracuda Outlook Add-In, and click the icon.
- Click Add, and confirm you want to install the Add-In.
- Click the File tab, and click Manage Add Ins.
- If prompted, enter your log in credentials.
- Verify the Add-In is enabled in the Manage add-ins table.
- The Barracuda Essentials (
) icon displays in the Microsoft Ribbon.
Once you have the software installed you can perform the following functions:
Take Action in the Actions Panel
Open the Actions panel to access actions. The actions are described after the common task of opening the Actions panel.
Opening the Actions Panel
To open the Actions panel:
In Outlook Web Access
- Log into Outlook using your web browser.
- Select an email, then click the Barracuda Essentials logo in the top right of the page.
In Outlook
- Log into Outlook.
- On the main Inbox page, click the Barracuda Essentials logo in the Microsoft ribbon.
Submit as Suspicious
Click to flag messages that are potentially harmful or unwanted – including phishing, spear-phishing, spam, or impersonation emails.
Flagging suspicious emails can help protect other users in your organization. Flagged messages are:
- Submitted to Barracuda Networks for analysis and improving email protection.
- Sent to your organization’s administrator for review. (Requires Barracuda Forensics & Incident Response.)
To submit an email as suspicious:
- Open the Actions panel as described above.
- Click Submit as Suspicious
. The currently selected message is submitted to Barracuda as suspicious and is immediately moved to Deleted Items folder, or the folder specified in your Preferences, described below.
Set Your Preferences
- Open the Actions panel as described above.
- Click Preferences.
- Choose the Outlook folder where you want to send emails you report as suspicious. By default, emails are sent to your Deleted Items folder. Click Back.
Manage Your Sender Policy
- Open the Actions panel as described above.
- Click Manage your sender policy. You are directed to the Barracuda Essentials Sender Policy page where you can allow or block messages from certain domains. Note that you might need to log in first.
